Shameless Plug: Michael Phelps will finally get his copy of Call of Duty

Who doesn’t love swimmer Michael Phelps? Well, the silver medalists that he beat in the 2008 Olympics probably aren’t too crazy about him, but you have to admit that Phelps was fun to watch. Apparently, the swimmer’s bling and hero status wasn’t enough to get an advanced copy of Call of Duty: World at War.
According to FPS Rantings, my other blog, Phelps received the “advanced copy” in question during an interview with the CBS Early show. It turned out that the PS3 case Phelps received is empty, save for an IOU card promising him the first disc off the production line.
Thankfully, Phelps won’t be waiting that long for his “advanced copy” because World at War is coming this November 11.
Sadly, this is another case of overzealous PR biting off more than it can chew.
