Far Cry 2 is well-received by critics

It’s been years since I’ve bought a copy of the now-defunct magazine Computer Gaming World, but I still get my share of reviews from CGW old-timers via 1UP. One of the latest video reviews from the trusted website is for Far Cry 2, which came out a couple of days ago.
My resolve to refrain from getting another game before the year ends is tested by Far Cry 2, and you’ll see why shortly.
I was expecting Far Cry 2 to be fantastic and I was right. What did surprise me is how the reviewer, Thierry “Scooter” Nguyen, looked. Scooter didn’t have a double chin and had more hair the last time I saw him.
My one big problem right now with any new PlayStation 3 game is that I don’t have the proper HD equipment for it. I’m currently languishing in standard def, and even the prettiest games can look downright ugly at 480p. As a result, I won’t fully enjoy Far Cry 2’s visual glory in case I do get around to purchasing it.
First-person Grand Theft Auto? Sounds like a winner. From the looks of things, several critics agree.
