Activision CEO’s salary revealed
There’s a good chance that gamers everywhere have a target board in their heads displaying the face of Activision CEO Bobby Kotick—and with good reason: overcharging. Have you ever wondered how much money Kotick gets from all the gouging that Activision engages in?
Guess what: Forbes has provided a breakdown of Kotick’s compensation for 2008.
It’s not really a big surprise that Kotick gets this much money. After all, Kotick was instrumental in Activision’s rags-to-riches story. If you haven’t noticed, other CEOs get a similar, obscene amount of cash as well. Therefore, there’s nothing unusual here.
However, if you consider Activision’s recent actions (i.e. charging £54.99 for Modern Warfare 2; Kotick joking about raising game prices even higher, among other things), you can’t help but wonder if Kotick’s decisions are driven by excessive greed.
Go easy on the prices, Bobby. There’s a global recession and Activision is doing great even without the nasty price hikes.
