Exec beats Michael Jordan at basketball pick-up game
Despite what some misguided people think, we all know that Michael Jordan is the best basketball player that ever existed in this fabric of reality, and don’t ever allow anyone to tell you otherwise. His Airness’ significance may seem to have diminished a bit after one decade and several NBA champions later, but reminders like old videos are there to jog our memories.
News you already know: Joey Crawford hates the Spurs
Two seconds were left, the Lakers were ahead by two points but it was Spurs ball. The ball was inbounded at half court to a sprinting Brent Barry. The 36-year old guard was hot so he gets the go ahead to shoot.
Derek Fisher, scourge of the Spurs last time the teams met in ‘04, hounds Barry during the possession. The Spur dribbles a couple of steps closer to the arc, makes a pump fake, and creates strong contact as he takes the shot.
It’s hard to be a basketball fan
When I was young, we didn’t get any timely NBA telecasts. And when we did get that infrequent game, it was always Magic versus Larry, or some young player named Michael whose hairline seemed to recede prematurely. Back then, I never thought the NBA had more than four teams! That’s the price you pay when you’re born on the other side of the world.
