Konami lets you play a twister in Tornado Outbreak
Konami revealed a new trailer for Tornado Outbreak, a new game that’s coming to the Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 this fall. The game’s concept is isn’t something you hear about everyday: players take control of a tornado and tear through open environments. Wanton destruction is a beautiful thing.
According to Konami, Tornado Outbreak is going to have “humor filled missions” and varying objectives. Look. I understand that Konami would have to hire another writer for that cheese-filled copy but you’ve got to give Tornado Outbreak a little more credit. The game’s concept is pretty unique and the stylized art works. It’s no Psychonauts but the quirkiness is there.
Of course, quirkiness doesn’t necessarily translate to quality.
The trailer doesn’t say anything about Tornado Outbreak’s story, but Konami was glad to fill in the blanks for me: The game stars Zephyr, an “unlikely” hero. The trailer, meanwhile, is said to detail three gameplay levels that show collection and time challenges, as well as a glimpse of the Omegaton, one of the game’s bosses.
Watch out for Tornado Outbreak, it’s coming this September. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tornado Outbreak would be buried under all the other high-profile games coming out during that time.
