It’s official: the two dozen songs that will be included in Guitar Hero 5’s 85-song set list have been named. You might notice that some names are familiar. Of course, there are also artists that would be making their Guitar Hero debut. These include: Band of Horses, Darkest Hour, Elliott Smith, John Mellencamp, Rose Hill Drive, The Bronx, Tom Petty, and Vampire Weekend.

Guitar Hero 5 is shipping on September 1, so better get your wallet ready. As you know, those plastic instruments aren’t cheap. Check out the confirmed lineup after the jump:
