See in-game footage of Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Not to be confused with Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII is an action RPG that’s coming out exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Information regarding the gameplay in this Final Fantasy is pretty scarce, but we do know that it’s going to be a “realistic derivation” of the Kingdom Hearts battle system.
Director Tetsuya Nomura also said that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is going to have “believable” characters. See the in-game footage for yourself:
No, your eyes don’t deceive you. That unruly black pelt on the guy’s head is his hair. Never mind that each (or every other) strand is probably rendered in real time, the hairstyle looks absolutely revolting.
I don’t understand, for the life of me, why this game is highly anticipated. The Kingdom Hearts battle “system” is just a fancy term for button mashing, so I expect this Final Fantasy title, like every other recent Final Fantasy, to have paper-thin gameplay that would only be made popular by its visuals.

What can I say! That looks AMAZING. I really cant wait till it come out, but you make a fair point about the gameplay being paper thin. Just hope they make it as engaging as the oldtime versions (i.e 7)
